With a growing passion for music and the 'Rave Culture', I found out about DJing. Not just the Radio type DJ who faded in/out music and talked over tracks presenting a show.

This was choosing the music, mixing and blending, beat matching, scratching and so much more. This made me eager to get into doing it myself.

Whilst not my first Dj Setup, these are my much treasured Gemini PT2410 Special Edition turntables and Numark DXM06 digital mixer.

My first set of decks was a Christmas present whilst still at secondary school from a now closed, well known high street electrical retailer of the day (Tandy). From memory it was a set of Goodmans Belt-driven Turntables, Tandys' own brand 2 channel mixer and whilst not a professional setup, it gave me the experience I wanted with a passion to do more. I do not remember what happened to this setup as it was that long ago.

Years later, after college and when I had started working I invested in these Gemini PT24100 turntables with a Numark DXM06 Mixer and some Stanton Concord Type needles. I had read good reviews on them having as close a feel to Technics SL1200's with a good torque and starter motor. Of course, I was completely swayed by the Translucent Blue colour of the shells and the blue lighting / digital pitch control etc.

These were sold in the mid 2010's on Facebook as had been sat in storage for ages, rarely used.

I still kept my record collection for many years before selling all my vinyl too. I have now gone digital with a Pioneer DJ-XJRR which is great fun. Updates to come.
