With a growing passion for music and the 'Rave Culture', I found out about DJing. Not just the Radio type DJ who faded in/out music and talked over tracks presenting a show. This was choosing the music, mixing and blending, beat matching, scrathing and so much more. This made me eager to to get into doing it myself.
My first set of decks was a Christmas present whilst still at secondary school from a now closed, well known highstreet electrical retailer of the day (Tandy). From memory it was a set of Goodmans Belt-driven Turntables, Tandys' own brand 2 channel mixer and whilst not a professional setup, it gave me the experience I wanted with a passion to do more. I do not remember what happened to this setup as it was that long ago.
Years later, after college and when I had started working I invested in these Gemini PT24100 turntables. I had read good reviews on them having as close a feel to Technics SL1200's with a good tourque and starter motore. Of course, I was completed swayed by the Translucant Blue colour of the shells and the blue lighting / digital pitch control etc.
